Denim for Dayz: Favorite Denim Pieces for Fall

Hey y’all! Is it fall where you are? Because it feels pretty FREAKING FALL down here in NC! It has been absolutely delightful the past few days. I’m dreaming of flannels, pumpkins, and spiced lattes. Basically, I AM LIVING. I’m also swapping out my closet for fall and that means bringing back some of my favorite denim pieces!

Denim is timeless. It’s in style every season in various forms, and that makes it an ultimate wardrobe staple. I also used to be scared of denim-on-denim (thanks Brittney and Justin) but now I’m fully embracing the style! Here’s a few ways to style your favorite denim pieces, and some of my favorite picks for fall.

CHAMBRAY

If you’re wanting to try out the denim-on-denim style but you don’t know where to start, go with chambray. Chambray isn’t technically denim, but it looks a lot like light-wash denim. You can put together a lot of good outfits with chambray pieces, or just go all-out and get a chambray dress! It’s a great transition fabric because it’s super lightweight and layers well.

BOYFRIEND

Try out a new style of denim this fall. If you typically go for skinnies, try a boyfriend cut. If you’re a flares gal, try something more cropped. It will open up a TON of styling opportunities! If you don’t know where to start, check out Holl & Main– they have so many great denim options. (And you can use code CONNER10 for 10% off!)

OUTERWEAR

If you’re a real denim lover, it’s time to go bold. A good denim jacket or vest can be great transition outerwear. Both options are meant for layering, so they’re perfect for in between seasons.

DISTRESSED

When in doubt, go distressed. It’s a great way to add a little bit of jazz to your denim choices. Also if you’re like me and can’t wear distressed to work, you’ll be reaching for something edgy on the weekends. Also distressed jeans instantly up your cool factor by 100%. Trust me, I’m a scientist.
