To Read or Not To Read: 24 Books to Read in 2019

Hey y’all!

One of my goals that I shared for this year is reading 2 books a month. I like to set my goals low so I can reach them and I don’t get disappointed because I am a baby. And good news for me is that I have already accomplished this goal for January! Yay me!

So I didn’t just come here to brag about how great I am at reading (I’m really good. I read REALLY fast. Too fast. Are we sure I actually know how to read?). I want to share with you some recommendations based on what I’m reading, what I’ve already read, and books that I’ll probably reread at some point this year.

  1. Crazy Rich Asians (series) by Kevin Kwan
  2. An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green
  3. It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way by Lisa TerKeurst
  4. The Summer I Turned Pretty (series) by Jenny Han
  5. Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart
  6. The Museum of Heartbreak by Meg Leder
  7. The Perfect Letter by Chris Harrison (yes THAT Chris Harrison)
  8. Turtles All the Way Down by John Green
  9. Southern Charm by Tinsley Mortimer
  10. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (series) by Jenny Han
  11. One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus
  12. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares (I’ve never read it- do I live under a rock???)
  13. Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty
  14. Save the Date by Morgan Matson
  15. Dating You/Hating You by Christina Lauren
  16. For the Right Reasons by Sean Lowe (why do I want to read so many Bachelor books)
  17. Talking as Fast as I Can by Lauren Graham
  18. Harry Potter (series) by J.K. Rowling (duh)
  19. Wonder by R.J. Palacio
  20. They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera
  21. Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
  22. The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher
  23. Why Not Me? By Mindy Kaling
  24. Yes Please by Amy Poehler

*Bold annotates books I’ve already read. If I haven’t read them, I’m not vouching for them or accepting any responsibility if you don’t like them. I might not like them either. We just don’t know.

Here’s what I’m reading (and re-reading) this year, and I’m sure I’ll find a few more gems to share! What are your book goals this year and what books should I add to my list? Let me know in the comments below!!

  1. My goal is just one book a month. I recently joined the Book of the Month club and chose Golden State by Ben H. Winters. It’s not the usual genre I go for, but I am really digging it. Oh and a super fun read is The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory. I read it in two days!

    1. I love that!! I think I have another Jasmine Guillory one on a to read list… I think it’s The Wedding Date?? I’ll have to add The Proposal too!!

  2. I also try to read at least two books a month! I’m currently reading Wuthering Heights (which might be a form of self torture… jury is still out). I was thinking about reading Crazy Rich Asians this year (loved the movie) so maybe that will be next on my list!

    1. Omg YES!!! You need to read the whole Crazy Rich Asians series… if you loved the movie you will LOVE the books!!
I’m with ya on Wuthering Heights… that is not my jam lol

      1. With Wuthering Heights, I feel like I’m on chapter 10 so I HAVE to finish it but I am noooot feeling it. Crazy Rich Asians will be my reward after!! I’m sure it’s an easier read.
