It’s the most wonderful time of the year, y’all.
The weather is getting colder and spirits are getting warmer because the holidays are right around the corner! Tis the season for drinking peppermint mochas, giving gifts, and having fun with your friends and family. I’m telling you- there is no better kickoff to the holiday season than Winter Wonderland at Park West Village and it’s here this weekend.
An alternate title for this was 5 Reasons Why You Need to Be at Park West Village’s Winter Wonderland (Other Than the Fact That I’ll Be There). So, if that doesn’t sway you, here are 5 more reasons why you need to be at Park West Village this weekend:
Reason #5. The event is FREE!
You can probably stop reading right here- the event is free and open to the public! There are a few non-profit organizations accepting donations onsite, so maybe keep reading for more details.
Reason #4. There will be sledding with REAL snow on Friday night. (That’s right, I said REAL snow)
There are fun events going on all weekend, and Friday night is kicking off with 2 giant sledding hills filled with REAL SNOW, thanks to the pros at Snow My Yard. All you have to do is sign a waiver, make a donation to the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation ($1 per slide), and hop in line (full rules and details on the PWV website)! Our friends from the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation and the Storm Squad will be there Friday night too!
Reason #3. Getting stir crazy from all the rain? Fill your weekend with Winter Wonderland fun!
Each night will be packed with fun activities- get in the holiday spirit with our carolers from Catch 22, take a ride around the District on our trackless trains, or stop by one of our booths for all kinds of family friendly fun! Earth Fare will be doing a cookie decorating booth all 3 nights. We’ll have special guests throughout the weekend including our friends from the Girl Scouts of North Carolina, and more fun brought to you by your favorite Park West Village shops (check out the PWV website for all the details).
Reason #2. Santa Claus is coming to town- specifically to
Stone Theatres Park West-14!
Santa’s making his list, so you better come see him! He’ll be here each night, telling stories and checking his nice list, every hour (5:30-8:30pm) at Stone Theatres Park West-14. Make sure you get in line early- there is limited space so Santa has a chance to chat and snap a quick holiday photo with every child. He’s the real deal, y’all- Story Time with Santa will give your child a fun holiday memory that they’ll never forget!
Reason #1. Magical Winter Lights show is back, and it’s better than ever.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Magical Winter Lights show, it’s a state-of-the-art digital light show projected on the face of the theatre. If you are familiar, you may not know that the show is designed and done by Paintscaping, an LA based company specializing in large-scale 3D projection mapping. They’ve done light shows all over the world and have done mapping for artists like Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Calvin Harris, and more! They’re bringing the holiday magic to Park West Village, and the show will be even bigger than it has been in years past. It’s a truly magical experience, and playing every 20-30 minutes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night.
Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your neighbors! Kick off your holiday season with all of your favorite places at Park West Village. If you need a break from the fun, stop in and warm up at one of your favorite shops or restaurants! You can even get a head start on all of your holiday shopping.
Tis the season, y’all- I’ll see you at Winter Wonderland!
