I’m so excited because it’s FALL. Well, technically, it’s after Labor Day which means it’s September which means it’s practically fall. Life is all about how you look at a calendar, and I’m looking at mine and seeing colored leaves and pumpkins everywhere. If I squint super hard, I can even see a decorated tree. I’ll try not to get too ahead of myself.
Firstly, thank you for joining me for last week’s #WhatIWoreWednesday and thank you for the feedback! I’m really looking forward to featuring some of my weekly favorites and classic basics here from some of my favorite local places. The Triangle is filled with awesome boutiques and shops, and the items featured today are from places right in the heart of Park West Village. Check them out:
There are not enough words to describe how excited I am that flare jeans are BACK. Honestly, I’ve been wearing flare jeans since I was twelve. I’m not going to call myself a trendsetter, but you may call me that if you would like.
These flares were a sweet find from my most recent Vestique trip, and let me tell you, they are PERFECT. They’re the perfect wash to dress up or down, and they are the perfect length to wear with heels, boots, mules, or literally any shoe you could imagine. In addition to the million things I love about Vestique (important question: should I rename #WIWWednesdays to #WhyILoveVestique), they are so good at tracking trends. In addition to these jeans, they just launched a lot of great denim options and they’re going fast. Light wash, dark wash, distressed, skinny, boyfriend, you name it. You’ll be feeling like a Vestique model in their jeans, so snag a pair and strut your stuff.
MAROON FOR DAYS
Being a Meredith grad and a Hokie with all my heart, maroon takes over a lot of my fall wardrobe. I’m always looking for cute options to wear for gameday or just to show a little school spirit while I’m out and about, and it can be hard to find the right shade or style. I mean, when you’re looking for anything specific shopping can be overwhelming, sorting through racks and shelves just trying to something that’s your size, let alone something that you actually like. This is why I LOVE Charming Charlie.
I love walking into Charming Charlie and seeing everything organized by color. It instantly puts my crazy, stressed brain at ease. It’s the perfect place to start if you’re looking for a specific color or style, and you can create a whole outfit. They have shoes, bags, and every kind of accessory you can imagine. You can literally match your phone case to your outfit every day if you feel so inclined. It’s a great, stress-free shopping zone for all seasonal styles. I can’t say this enough- if shopping isn’t your jam, try out Charming Charlie. It will become your go-to place.
Let’s talk this dress. As I mentioned in last week’s Holl & Main sneak peek, if it’s soft, I will buy it. I had my arms FULL on my most recent trip to Charming Charlie. Sweaters, dresses, tops- everything was so. soft. This dress feels like a cloud and looks great for any occasion. It’s lightweight and has a great tie detail on the neck that you can dress up or down. I’m wearing it here on a night out in Charleston when it was 80000 degrees, but I’ll still be wearing it with tights to VT football games in November when it gets chilly. Also, it comes in 3 colors, so on the OFF CHANCE that you aren’t a VT fan, they have it in black and olive.
My favorite part of #WIWWednesdays is getting to share about people who are getting it right. I always feel stylish and trendy in my Vestique outfits, and I’ve been shopping there since high school. I always know that I can find something there, and they make shopping fun. Their stylists are always friendly and it makes me feel like I’m in my own little fashion show when I’m trying stuff on. In the same way, Charming Charlie always takes the stress out of shopping, and you know you’re going to find something you love. And probably something soft.
Let me know what you think in the comments- did I miss any of your faves from this week? What else do you want to see on the blog?
